Have you heard? Oils are in. From all-natural to very expensive, there are so many oil-based products on the market that you could very well revamp your entire beauty routine to use them from head to toe. As a beauty editor, I’ve been smelling and testing new versions for about four years now, when Linda Rodin’s luxury face oil quietly hit the counter at Barneys New York, spawning legions of cult-like fans and spurring many brands to launch their own. Below, a list of the best I’ve tried—at every price point.

FACE

L’Oreal Age Perfect Glow Renewal ($25)
L’Oreal was the first mass brand to launch a face oil. The surprisingly lightweight formula is a mix of Lavender, rosemary, orange, rose, and other oils. While too much for my oily skin, it’s an excellent anti-aging option.

Linda Rodin’s Luxury Face Oil ($150)
I dropped an inappropriate amount of cash on this little bottle. I’d heard J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons rave about it, and later celebrity stylist Andy LeCompte (Madonna, Nicole Richie) would use it in Nicole Richie’s hair on set. A little goes a long way, it smells phenomenal, and it feels like velvet. (See, I can justify anything.)

BODY

Leonor Greyl Huile de Magnolia for Face and Body ($52)
This rich French oil’s full of vitamin A, smells like vacation, extends your tan, and even doubles as a makeup remover in a pinch.

Johnson and Johnson’s Baby Oil ($3)
You can’t go wrong with a classic. Rub this powdery soft formula into your legs post-shave, before you’re even out of the shower, for serious hydration.

Bobbi Brown Beach Body Oil ($32)
This was the first oil I ever used on my body. I bought it for the Coppertone-like smell and was hooked by its ability to deliver a summery sheen year round.

HAIR

Sedu Anti-Frizz Polishing Treatment with Moroccan Argan Oil ($16)
Most hair oils are dangerously heavy—just slightly too big a drop can leave your ends greasy—but Sedu’s is super lightweight, and the herbal scent fades quickly.

Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil ($36)
After going blonder than usual, I’ve tried to let my hair air dry this summer to reverse some of the damage. This delicious-smelling blend of sandalwood, bergamot, and argan has nursed it back to health, taming my frizz and deep conditioning the ends.

Garnier Fructis Style Deep Nourish Dry Hair Oil ($6)
A little goes a long way with this one. Coat your hands with a tiny drop and work through the ends of wet or dry hair.

Murad Renewing Cleansing Oil ($32)
This paraben, sulfate, and phthalate-free formula is so gentle that you can rub it right onto your eyes to remove your makeup.

Josie Maran Cleansing Oil ($12)
Buy a travel size bottle of Maran’s argan oil-based cleanser to see if the all-natural formula’s right for your skin.

OTHER

CND Solar Oil ($8)
This almond oil-based formula is bursting with vitamin E—and it’s the secret to making your manicure look fresh long after you’ve left the salon.

Clarins Sunscreen Oil Spray Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($35)
This is the sunscreen that saw me through the summer. The oil, in a spray bottle, just faintly smells of beach, is easy to rub in, and leaves your skin radiant—not greasy. My total lack of sunburn from Memorial Day to now means it’s easier to use than your traditional spray protection.

Shiffa Invigorating Hair Oil ($100)
When Shiffa’s founder, TK, told me to put this on my scalp, I balked. But I did it anyway, cringing as I massaged the wonderful smelling mix of jojoba, peppermint, and grapeseed oil into my roots. After a regular wash and rinse, I had a whole new head of nourished hair.
