More and more men realize the benefit of a little grooming, from skincare to even a little bit of makeup (if done right a little concealer can cover up imperfections and be totally undetectable). Even if you don’t have a ton of time, here are a few basics to focus on:
First things first. It’s important to rinse off any debris, dirt, and pollution each night to keep skin and pores clean and clear. Make sure to use a cleanser that’s specifically designed for the face. Avoid using regular soap as this will dry out skin.
Apply a lightweight moisturizer all over your face every day. Hydrated skin keeps the appearance of wrinkles at bay. If your skin is especially dry, add a serum underneath or switch to a richer moisturizer.
Use an eye cream that’s specially designed to take care of the sensitive skin under the eyes.
Make sure to moisturize lips with lip balm. No one likes chapped lips.
If you feel too pale, a light bronzing gel can revive your look. It provides just enough color for a healthy glow. I created a Joe Brown Bronzing Gel for my father (and he’s a man’s man). He wears it every day.
Use tiny amount of lightweight creamy concealer for an instant pick-me-up under your eyes. Use a creamy formula in a shade lighter than your skin tone. It works by lightening any under-eye darkness so you look like you’ve had eight hours of sleep.
When it comes to brows, a little goes a long way. Use tweezers to pluck any stray hairs between the brows as well as any hairs growing below the brow — including those that appear just below the arch.
