According to the Experts, This Is the New Way to Wear Blush

As the season changes, so does the industry’s go-to way to add dimension to the face. The newest trend? “Draping”—the act of using only differing blush tones to sculpt your face by following your natural bone structure and ridding your face of any bronzer at all. National makeup artist for Japonesque, Shawn Fisher, says this “new” trend isn’t so new after all, explaining that it was the contouring of the ’70s and ’80s. “One of the reasons why draping is beginning to trend is because it’s aimed at everyone—it’s a much simpler way to sculpt the face and very user-friendly.”

“By simply sweeping a neutral tone blush underneath your cheekbone—it can be peachy or a cool plum—and a lighter, brighter shade from the apple of your cheek to your hairline, you can create a fresh, subtle contour without using three different creams and powders,” says Fisher. For an extra pop of peachy dimension, Fisher suggests sweeping a bit of your favorite blush onto the crease of your eye as well to tie the whole look together.
