Ariana Grande's New Bee Tattoo Is a Tribute to Manchester
To pay homage to the city of Manchester, Ariana Grande and her Dangerous Woman tour crew got tattoos of worker bees — the city’s symbol. The group reportedly had the tattoos done backstage after the One Love Manchester concert, a tribute concert to honor the 22 people killed and dozens injured during a terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert on May 22.
The 23-year-old singer hosted the star-studded charity concert in the city on Sunday night and in a show of added solidarity with her fans and Manchester residents, she also got the ink.
The worker bee has been a symbol of Manchester since the Industrial Revolution, and after the attack on May 22, Manchester tattoo artists launched the Manchester tattoo fundraiser, where bee tattoos would be done for £50, with proceeds going to the families of victims of the attack.

Grande reportedly told a pal backstage after the gig: “That was the hardest thing ever, I just need to go home now.” But her brother Frankie Grande, 34, emphasized her strength to British newspaper The Sun. “She seems calm out there because that’s her in her element. That’s what she was born to do,” he said. “She is strong, so much stronger than anyone thought. She’s strong for her fans.”

The concert was a huge hit in the U.K. with 14.5 million viewers tuning in to watch on BBC1 and 73 million more streaming it on Grande’s Facebook account.
In addition to Grande, performers also included Miley Cyrus, Chris Martin, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and others. The event helped raise £2 million for the We Love Manchester emergency fund.
