Barbie Has a Celebrity Makeup Artist Now

Makeup artist Pat McGrath has had a busy fashion week. On top of leading makeup teams backstage in New York, Milan, and Paris and hosting an afternoon of makeup applications in the Jardin de Tuileries to debut her first product, Gold 001, she’s also teaming up with Barbie to create four exclusive beauty looks inspired by the runway.
The looks, which are debuting on Instagram, are based off of some of McGrath’s most memorable beauty moments. “This fashion week, we are getting the ultimate insider treatment, beauty looks by the one and only @patmcgrathreal,” the Barbie team wrote on Instagram. First up? A Swarovski crystal adorned cat eye and cool purple lip on a brunette Barbie. The look is reminiscent of the many bejeweled looks she’s created for the runway over the years, from sparkly lids at the spring 2013 Dior show to the jewel-encrusted faces she just sent down the runway at the spring 2016 Givenchy show.

“Barbie is so iconic, with such a long history of different looks,” says McGrath in a statement. “For the Instagram collaboration, I wanted to present Barbie in a modern way, showing how makeup can be a tool for creative self expression.”
