Bye-Bye Makeup Remover Wipes! Face Halo Is Here

I’ll admit that I did a Nene Leakes eye roll when I first heard about this new beauty tool called Face Halo that would replace traditional makeup remover wipes and has already gotten the celeb seal of approval from Naomi Watts.
Not that I’m a full-glam-every-day-kind-of-girl, but when I do wash my face, I rely on a combination of oil cleansers and makeup-melting balms to get the job done. Makeup remover wipes have always played a supporting role in my skincare routine. They work nicely to break down pigments and shadows, but after all the wiping, my complexion is still not quite clean.
Face Halo, a small, circular pad made from the softest microfibers, grabs every trace of dirt and makeup from your face and locks it into the cushiony material. And get this: It only requires water.
But still a skeptic about this face-washing sorcery, I decided to test out Face Halo’s lofty claims while wearing what I consider my no-makeup makeup: Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brow Gel, Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara, and Black Opal Beauty Color Splurge Risqué Matte Lipstick.
I wet one side of the reusable pad with lukewarm water and rubbed it across my face. (Disclaimer: Out of habit, I applied a black soap facial wash and scrub.) After just one swipe of the Face Halo, I could see my imperfect complexion again.
Normally, it would take me 10 to 15 minutes to really wash my face. But each time I used the Face Halo (with or without cleanser), I was out of the bathroom in under five minutes. I also appreciate how amazing this tool is at taking off mascara without ripping out my lashes or moving my contact lenses behind my eyeballs.
Keeping the Face Halo clean itself isn’t too stressful, as I buffed it with warm water and mild soap to make it look somewhat new again. Though the dual microfiber side does make it easy to get as much use out of a single pad before having to load it with the rest of my laundry.
It looks like my days of using makeup remover wipes are officially behind me.
