Chrissy Teigen Shares Funny Tweet About Baby No. 2

Chrissy Teigen is behind on her bills.

The supermodel shared a rather personal monthly expense in a tweet on Tuesday, posting a screenshot of an invoice for frozen embryos that read, “Outstanding embryo storage balance due.” She added the caption: “Damn, how’s my embryo gonna be in debt before it’s even born.”

Fans were fascinated by Teigen’s admission.

Tiegen, 31, has long been candid about her fertility struggles, even before conceiving now-1-year-old daughter Luna Simone Stephens with husband John Legend. In March 2016, she told Self that she underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF) using a gender selection process after trying to get pregnant naturally.

“The big question was why this wasn’t working for us when I was young and he was healthy,” Teigen told the magazine. “I thought, people get pregnant by accident all the time! How does this happen?”

She added, “Emotionally, it could be really hard. When you have these high-highs and low-lows, and you’re, like, cuckoo pants. You don’t want to get your hopes up, but of course you do.” Teigen was so focused on maintaining a healthy pregnancy that she even had two ultrasounds per week during her first trimester for her peace of mind.

In January, Teigen told Extra that she plans to undergo IVF again to conceive baby No. 2, saying, “We have a boy on ice.”

IVF is a process that involves removing eggs from a woman’s ovaries, fertilizing them with sperm in a lab, and then implanting the fertilized eggs back in the uterus. The process can be physically and emotionally exhausting, and in some cases, the expensive procedure is not covered by medical insurance. Some couples chose to freeze any embryos that aren’t implanted in case IVF fails or if they want to try to have another child down the road.

Per PBS, annual fees for keeping eggs on ice can range from $500 to $1,000, not including the costs to thaw and prep the eggs for fertilization when a woman is ready to use them.

Later that day, Teigen followed up with a few funny tweets.

It sounds like whenever Teigen and Legend are ready to expand their adorable family, everyone will be the first to know.
