The best part about being a beauty editor? Colleagues and friends are consistently shuttling back and forth between here and Paris, the land of brilliant drugstore beauty. It’s also the exclusive land of Dessange Paris, a luxury hair care line known for aiding and abetting impossibly soft, easy hair that looks amazing done and undone, aka, that effortless “I woke up like this” thing French girls do better than anyone.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to fly to Paris to get it. The brand has made its way stateside—and it’s available right now at Target.

Legendary stylist Jacques Dessange—he cut Jean Seberg’s pixie and tousled Bardot’s waves—launched the collection in 1954, to answer the demands of French women who wanted a newer, fresher approach to their hair. Dessange responded by created the “Coiffé-Décoiffé,” that tousled look that oozes international sex appeal, along with luxury products to support his new hair revolution. (He’s also the creator of the seemingly backlit blonde that came to Hollywood that same decade, known as “DESSANGE Blonde.”)

Target’s welcomed four collections of products: California Blonde (to support the needs of flaxen strands), Solar Blonde Naturale (which gradually lightens natural blonde hair), Salon Color Restore (to handle the specific needs of color-treated hair), and Oleo Miracle, which helps repair and restore shine to parched, over-processed hair. The products retail between $9.99 - $11.99. Cool French girl hair at a price Americans can afford? Oui, cheri.
