Dior Does Your Makeup for You
We’re pretty ambitious at Yahoo Beauty, willing to experiment with new products, techniques, and outside the box ideas. But there are some runway looks best left to the experts; latex eyelids, crystallized liner, and lace lashes are among the recent looks we’ve admired from afar. Luckily Dior, and its Creative and Image Director of Makeup, Peter Philips, is making it possible to pull of runway makeup in real life—without the help of a professional.
Dior’s AW15 couture show featured mirrored liner against bare eyes (a bit of white shadow, no mascara). “The collection explored contradictions, so we wanted to keep it pretty and pure,” Philips told Style.com at the time. “I just wanted to add one element that was highly contrasting and artificial.” So he cut 70 sets of silver tape by hand—himself—and stuck them just above the models’ lash lines. And then the house found a way to mass produce the stick-on liner.

Each set comes with four pairs of reusable and adjustable stickers—two silver, two black. (They’ll definitely stick on the first time, but if you want to reuse them, Dior includes eye-safe glue in the package to make sure they don’t fall into your cocktail mid-holiday party.) Philips says, “[They] offer the classicism of eyeliner twisted with a futuristic touch.”
The limited edition set costs $61, and is exclusive to Dior.com.
