“There were a lot of girls around me growing up that suffered full-blown eating disorders, or just the body dysmorphia that every girl feels – especially every girl in a swimsuit. There were times when I wasn’t happy with my body, but I always knew that I was really fit and that it was what allowed me to be successful in the pool.” - Natalie Coughlin, Swimming

Naked, powerful and absolutely stunning, are the only words to describe ESPN’s annual Body Issue that will hit newsstands on July 10. Featuring six male and female athletes spanning all categories from soccer to rugby to field hockey, these images celebrate strong, healthy physiques.

With the fashion and beauty industries bombarding us with overly retouched images of ultra-thin bodies and constantly praising the “size 0” (only recently have plus sized models been making waves), these images are a total breath of fresh air. Not everyone can train at the level of a professional athlete, but we can certainly follow some of their tips and look to their bodies when it comes to finding our #fitspiration. To see all the athletes in the issue including Ali Krieger and Gabby Reece visit ESPN or pick up the issue July 10.
