Cara Delevigne has mastered the art of the casual, cool, unique, and wearable red carpet beauty look. Her style at the MTV Movie Awards is no exception. The model turned actress stuck to her signature tailored jumpsuit, glowing skin, and natural waves and can do no wrong.
She switched things up with the help of her tried and true hairstylist, Mara Roszak, who added a unique braided touch to Cara’s beachy waves. Starting with a curling wand and texturizing spray, Roszak gave Cara a deep side part and looped a tiny inside-out French braid along her part and tucked it behind her ear.

The model teased her trendy makeup look on Instagram with a snap of her deep brown pout with berry undertones. The matte lip shade reminds us of Lip Kit by Kylie’s True Brown K, but Cara went with Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Stripped ($20). Even with a bold lip, Cara’s signature brows and bright eyes always steal the show. “Delevingne wore an incredibly tailored suit by Balmain, so my goal was for her skin to reign and her eyes to pop while rocking a modern lip that separated her from the rest,” says makeup artist Molly R. Stern. If you’ve got a glowing complexion like Cara’s, you can’t go wrong here.

Prepping Cara’s skin with RéVive Intensité Moisture Serum Extrême ($365) and Révive Intensité Crème Luster Day ($385), Stern says “I massaged them into her skin – these products are amazing.” She then gave the model’s skin a light sweep of Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation in Vanille ($48) and used a cream blush and highlighter to brighten up her cheeks: Laura Mercier’s Crème Cheek Colour in Praline ($26) and Laura Mercier Face Illuminator in Seduction ($44).
Stern matched Delevingne’s lightly contoured eye to her cheek color. She used several shades for dimensional color, starting with Laura Mercier’s Eye Basics in Peach ($27) on the lids, and adding a spot of dewiness with Jillian Dempsey’s Lid Tint in Lilac ($28). She then tight lined Cara’s upper and lower lash lines with True Isaac Mizrahi Liquid Eye Definer in Caviar ($24). She smudged the line with Laura Mercier’s Matte Eye Color in Deep Night ($25) to make the look less graphic, more rock n roll. Stern then applied two coats of Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara in Blackest Black ($10) to curled lashes. She enhanced Delevingne’s iconic brows with Laura Mercier Brow Definer ($22) for hold and dimension. She set the look with Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder in Shade 5 ($47).
The lip shade Stern went for is dark but neutral and shared similar undertones to her eye and cheek colors. This is a great way to make a bold lip more casual. “The girl knows how to have fun, and encourage immense creativity,” Stern says of Delevingne. “As always, working with her was a joyful blast!” It’s no secret that Delevingne’s cool girl style can be attributed to her confidence. So own that lipstick. “She left looking stunning. Shocker, I know, not sure how anyone could mess that up!”
