While funnel cakes and hot dogs might seem like a no-brainer at summer music festivals, when you’re spending over twelve hours outside in the sun bopping to the sounds of your favorite artists, it pays to treat your body right. This is where Owen + Alchemy comes in. The Chicago-based cold-pressed juice bar will be setting up shop at Lollapalooza, serving up three good for you juices this weekend.
Started by Anne M. Owen in partnership with Chef Jared Van Camp, Owen + Alchemy offers over 15 different juices (all served in minimalist all-glass bottles with clean matte black labels, the kind you want to keep) ranging from a traditional green juice with kale, parsley, romaine, celery and apple to a citrus juice with blueberry, basil, grapefruit and lime to a variety of nut milks and juice shots. Along with the juices, the café menu includes acai bowls, kale salads, and smoothies, which utilize organic, local, heirloom, and seasonal produce. In addition to the culinary offerings, you will also find a line of five custom Chinese herbal blends that can be added to select nut milks and juices.

For its pop-up at Lollapalooza, Owen + Alchemy will be serving three special juices: The L1 is blueberry, basil, and lemonade ($7), the L2 is a kale, spinach, apple, and lemon mix ($8), and the L3 is a combination of watermelon, ginger, mint, cucumber, and lime — the perfect hot day thirst quencher.
Even if you’re not heading to Lollapalooza to get your Paul McCartney fix this weekend, add a trip to Owen + Alchemy’s Logan Square flagship or to their pop up inside of Eataly to your to-do list for your next visit to the Windy City. Oh, and pick up some of the coconut jerky in-store — you won’t be disappointed.
