The Treatment: The 90-minute Oriental Ceremony at The Spa at The Setai in Miami Beach, Florida.
The Lowdown: A full body massage combined with a body scrub to leave you feeling relaxed and skin looking radiant. The Setai Spa uses products from France’s Thémaé line, which utilizes the properties of tea.
The Backdrop: The Setai Miami Beach is located on Collins Avenue, in the heart of South Beach. The Art Deco hotel houses a Spa with four private treatment rooms (with beach views) that make for an extra comfortable and relaxing experience. After your treatment, sip a mojito in the hotel’s sun filled courtyard.
The Scoop: After surviving fashion week and awards season and narrowly escaping the latest snowpocalypse in New York City, I wanted a massage that wouldn’t leave me sore the next day but still get out the knots that had built up around my neck and shoulders. On top of that, my dry skin was in need of intense exfoliation.
The Results: Total relaxation was my goal here and it was more than met. The treatment begins with a 60 minute full body Oriental massage. This style is more gentle than a deep tissue massage and is meant to relax the body using graceful strokes that still manage to work out any tension. After the massage, the body is scrubbed with Thémaé Creamy Body Exfoliant, a salt scrub with apricot and macadamia oils, that leaves skin feeling smooth and hydrated. After rinsing off the scrub, Thémaé’s silky Thé en Orient Body Massage Balm is rubbed in. It left my skin feeling the softest it has ever felt (really) and on top of that, I left feeling totally zen. If only that feeling could last forever.
