How to Get a Smokey Metallic Eye
At this years Oscars, actress Lupita Nyong’o stunned in a $150,000 custom Calvin Klein gown adorned with 6,000 pears (it was later stolen from her hotel room), drop earrings, and dazzling metallic eyeshadow. Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose is the man behind her glamorous red carpet look. Here, he shows us how to get her cool metallic smoky eye look from the Academy Awards using the exact same Lancome products he used on Lupita. Try this one for your next night out!
1. Trace your lash line using a navy eye pencil. Line the inside of the eyes to add drama. Try Lancome’s Le Stylo Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner ($27).
2. Start by applying your darkest shadow color to the lid following the liner as a guide. Barose used Lancome’s Color Design 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($50).
3. Smudge a mid-tone grey shadow over the entire eye.
4. Finish with a silver shadow on your lower lid and under the eye.
5. Trace liquid liner along the lash line.
6. Apply two coats of mascara.
