How to Get Perfectly Rosy Cheeks

Each day of New York Fashion Week the Yahoo Beauty editors will be sharing one life-changing beauty tip from the makeup artists, hair stylists, nail artists, and models we meet backstage.

Backstage before the Kate Spade presentation, MAC makeup artist Lyne Desnoyers created a beauty look inspired by a cool winter walk (think rosy cheeks, a berry lip, and a velvety complexion). When it comes to getting a natural looking winter flush, Desnoyers suggests removing the foundation on your cheeks with a wipe before you apply your blush. “This will allow your natural cheek redness to blend with the blush. If you’re afraid of putting on too much [blush] this trick will help,” she says.

On the models at Kate Spade, Desnoyers used Tailored to Tease matte lipstick, a cool pink, as the cheek color, which she applied to cheeks with a fan brush. “Start at the center of the cheek and instead of going upward, blend downward,” suggests Desnoyers.
