How to Organize Your Makeup Bag

If your New Year’s resolutions are about getting organized, start with your makeup bag. Having a go-to bag all planned out, keeps your routine streamlined, and cuts down on your time spent getting ready. Here are my essentials:
Keep a travel-sized moisturizer in your bag at all times. Hydrated skin always looks fresh and glowing. It is the most important step to achieving an even makeup application. I like to scoop out product from my full-size products into mini sized containers, but samples are another great option.
To minimize the number of products you carry with you, stock your bag with multi-use products. CC Cream, BB Cream, and tinted moisturizer pair skincare and SPF with coverage. Cream blush can double as both blush and lipstick. An eye shadow in a dark color works as both shadow and liner.
To cut back on possible spills, replace liquid foundation with a foundation stick. It can be used as makeup, concealer, or to cover redness.
I never leave the house without concealer. It camouflages any under-eye darkness, and instantly brightens up your face.
Always keep two lip colors in your makeup bag. A swipe of bold lip color can instantly dress up any look for an evening out, and a nude lip works for both day and night.
When it comes to mascara, use the blackest black formula. It makes eyes pop.
If you have extra space, keeping a few hair elastics and dry shampoo in your makeup bag can help with whatever type of hair day you are having.
