James Charles's Fidget Spinner Contour Makeup Hack
What's the strangest makeup hack you've seen recently? Was it stiletto contouring? Brow wigs? Matching your lip color to your nipples? Well, there's a new trick in town, and it's as trendy as they come.
As reported by Refinery29, makeup maven James Charles took to his Instagram to show his almost 2 million followers a hot new contouring hack. But instead of using brushes or blenders, he brought out a fidget spinner:
Yes, a fidget spinner, one of those trendy little (and low-key dangerous?) whirligigs. Before you cast judgment on Charles's tool of choice, he acknowledges that yeah, he wasn't into them either until recently, captioning the video, "I thought they were so dumb at first but they really help with ADHD and they're so fun."
In the video, Charles uses the fidget spinner only for the contouring step, and honestly? The gadget's slim, protruding sides do a decent job of laying down some contour lines. (Naturally, please do not attempt this while the fidget spinner is actually on.)
He later clarified on his Twitter that while the "hack" itself is a joke, he's actually grown fond of his fidget spinner:
my last ig post is 150% a joke to get likes I hope y'all realize that anyways fidget spinners are actually so good it helps me stay focused

I thought they were so stupid at first but I heard they helped with people with ADHD, they're actually so cool

Still on the fence about fidget spinners? If nothing else, it could serve as a brush in a pinch.
