Move over, Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton—you might want to consider shaving your head if you want to make headlines now. Jared Leto has chopped off his envy-inducing ombre locks and shaved his Jesus beard, and we’re all holding our breath for the first full-face photo. He just posted a photo on Instagram of a pair of scissors about to chop off his silky ponytail. There is no caption, because a picture speaks a thousand words (and gasps of shock). He cut his hair and shaved his scruff in anticipation of his role as the Joker in director David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad.” Ayer had Tweeted the same photo earlier: “Should we? #SuicideSquad” Earlier today, Leto also Tweeted, “I miss my beard already.”

Leto’s famous beard and long hair made headlines all over the red carpet in the past few months, landing him on best hair lists that once only included Hollywood’s leading women. At the Oscars in February, for example, he paired his famous facial hair with a lilac Givenchy tuxedo—a color of suit that we haven’t seen since our high school proms. We’re going to miss Leto’s Biblical hair, but we know he’s going to keep stealing the show once he debuts his new look.
