Kate Hudson and her son have matching hair right now

Kate Hudson shocked fans earlier this summer when she buzzed off all her hair. But she also may have inspired someone — her 13-year-old son, Ryder.

Hudson shared a photo of herself and Ryder in profile on Instagram on Tuesday morning. The two have the exact same haircut, down to the shade of brown and the dips in hairline. Like mother, like son, they both can pull off a basically-no-hair-cut. With any luck, grandmother Goldie Hawn will be the next family member to join in.

Fans are loving the mother-son duos’s matching ‘dos, and the photo is quickly going viral with thousands of likes on Instagram. “Loving you with the dark hair! Complexion looks rich and creamy. Incredible to be able to pull off blonde and dark!! And what a precious pic of the two of you!! Beautiful together!!” commented user @armerca. “Serious twinning happening here” agreed another fan who goes by @thisgnomeknowsall.

Hudson’s close crop was part of her role in the upcoming movie Sister, the feature-film writer-directorial debut for pop star Sia. According to People, the movie will co-star Sia’s young muse and frequent collaborator Maddy Ziegler and is based on a one-page short story written by Sia.

Even if it was a job requirement, Hudson has apparently taken to her new look. She’s spent the summer cropping the top of her head out of photos — perhaps to avoid spoiling a plot point or character trait in the movie — but this mother-and-son photo was just too good to pass up.

Just this weekend, she shared another proud mom moment, of her family of five kids peeking over a dock at what looks like a West Coast sunset. (Ryder and his buzzcut are far left.)

Earlier this summer, Ryder showed off his big-brother skills at lil’ bro Bingham’s 6th birthday. Of course, it was all captured by Hudson — and showed off to her more than 7 million Instagram followers. “Oh how they grow,” she wrote.

With Hudson’s love of her new look, we’re especially looking forward to Sister. Will she walk the red carpet with her matching mini-me?
