Kylie Jenner: My Hair Affects My Attitude

If you think keeping up with the Kardashians is difficult, try being a Jenner. Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the reality clan, is having a whirlwind week – and it’s only Thursday. The 18-year-old KUWTK reality star hit New York Fashion Week, attending Alexander Wang’s Saturday show. On Monday, she launched her (No. 1 iTunes) app as well as her website. By Wednesday, the Snapchat queen stepped out with an unnatural hair color while celebrating the opening of the new Sugar Factory American Brasserie in NYC.
The green shade may be a change from her formerly blonde strands, but it isn’t the first time she’s donned a variation of the leafy color. Jenner has rocked teal, grey and blue locks, too. Her hair constantly ranges in hues, much like her guilty pleasure, which she tells Yahoo Beauty, is Nerds candy.
While she isn’t completely cutting out the sugary stuff, dairy is a no-go for the recent high school graduate. “Out of the blue, dairy just made me start feeling super nauseous and didn’t make me feel good,” says Jenner. “I went to the doctor and he was like, ‘You’ve got to cut it out.’ I was like, ‘Ok.’ Now, I feel so much better.” While she’s more physically comfortable, Jenner says the elimination of milk products hasn’t influenced her skin for better or for worse.
Alternatively, in regards to her ever-changing mane, she says, “It affects my attitude. That’s why I love changing my look so much, because it makes me feel super confident.”
For the California native, who has nearly 36 million Instagram followers, confidence seems to come naturally. Though her beauty look doesn’t often appear ordinary, she’s recently started making an effort to transition. “The best beauty advice I can give – that I’ve learned this past month – is that less is more,” says Jenner. “I just feel like natural makeup is just better on me, particularly, so I’ve been trying to do that. Not for this event, but for every day.”
Even though temperatures are shifting from summer to fall, the best beauty advice she’s received is to wear sunscreen. (We don’t disagree with her there.)
After speaking with Yahoo Beauty, and socializing with friends (and her beau Tyga) at Sugar Factory, Jenner was whisked away to catch a flight out of New York. Just because she’s left the city that never sleeps, it doesn’t mean the trendsetter is slowing down.
Though a release date is to be determined, her highly anticipated lip products will be available in the coming months. In the meantime, Jenner is keeping a tight lip (pun intended) about whether they will include lipsticks, pencils or other goodies. “I’m going to keep that a secret, but it’s a kit and I am super invested,” she says. “I have been going to the factories, making the shades perfect, because I’m super particular about my lip color. I wanted to make three perfect shades to start off.”
Until then, the world will be keeping up with her on social media, scrolling her site, clicking through her app, and obviously, admiring her hair.
