Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda recently shared some meaningful ink he got over the weekend with his 1.4 million Twitter followers.
Alongside a photo showcasing the newly-tattooed, letter V on his ring finger — for his wife Vanessa Nadal — Miranda wrote, “In other news, I got a permanent parking spot for V over the weekend.”

Getting a tattoo on the ring finger to symbolize one’s marriage is nothing new. Superstars Beyoncé and Jay Z have matching Roman numerals on their ring fingers.
The pair got the number IV tattooed after their wedding in 2008, as it holds special meaning to them. Jay Z’s birthday is December 4, Beyoncé’s is September 4, and their wedding took place on April 4.
The subtle marking can be seen in some of the images posted on Beyoncé Instagram account — when she’s not wearing her sparkling $5 million dollar wedding ring.

The singer also shared a video to mark the couple’s ninth anniversary in April that featured them getting the matching tattoos.

Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo are also followers of the trend.
The pair, who married in 2014, have a matching three-dot design on their ring fingers. In an interview with Yahoo Style, Prinsloo shared the meaning behind the ink.
“It means being one with the earth. And I just wanted it on my ring finger. When I take it off, it’s still there. I wanted a ring, but everybody does the ring, so I did three dots,” she said.
It’s pretty common to get any kind of marking on the ring finger to symbolize a marriage or partnership. However, one celebrity jeweler — Jason Arasheben of Jason of Beverly Hills — jumped on the idea in a different — and creative — way.
He created a black gold ring — with the word MARRIED on the interior — that leaves an imprint of the word on the ring finger.

It’s clear people are getting pretty inventive with the concept of symbolizing marriage in today’s day and age.
