Model Who Was Bullied for Her Dark Skin Stars in Another Make Up For Ever Campaign
Khoudia Diop is a model, “melanin goddess,” and one of the stars of the Colored Girl’s latest campaign, called Blend In Stand Out, which launched April 25. The creative agency’s campaign features mega beauty brand Make Up For Ever and is the next installment of the brand’s “Blend In Stand Out” initiative, which debuted in February.
As with the initial campaign, this one features Diop, along with a new group of diverse models and influencers — who all share their favorite products from the brand as well as vital causes they’re passionate about. Diop stands for antibullying, and without a doubt for good reason — it’s an issue that has affected her personally.

In 2016, she told Refinery 29, “People have made comments, calling me names like ‘midnight’ or ‘mother of stars,’” she says. “At first I confronted the bullies, but eventually I learned to tune out the negativity and just love myself more.”
The French-Sengalese beauty also discussed how she combated bullying, sharing with the Daily Mail: “Growing up, I faced it by confronting the bullies. As I grew, I learned to love myself more every day, and not pay attention to the negative people, which helped a lot.”
Being a part of this campaign is a full-circle moment for Diop and the perfect opportunity for her as she continues to motivate others who also have deeply toned skin and face similar negative comments.
While it is no secret that models have faced discrimination because of their complexion, body type, and hair, this is a key moment for Make Up For Ever to be one of the latest brands focusing on inclusion and embracing diversity — especially with Diop as one of its leading stars.
“Personally, it was always very difficult to find complexion products that match my shade,” she shared with Essence. “Make Up For Ever has foundation options that work for me, and everyone.”
In an Instagram post, Diop wrote: “I love to blend in with R540 by @makeupforeverus, because it helps me celebrate my natural beauty, and feel even more confident, as I stand for anti-bullying!!”
