My 8 Beauty Don’ts
Over the years I’ve seen some makeup techniques that just never work. Here’s what I would avoid:

Don’t wear a dark lip liner over lighter lipstick. It’s too artificial and awkward.
Don’t contour with a dark powder. It ends up as two stripes on your face.
Don’t put eye cream on your lids. Your shadow and mascara will smear. Always make sure your lid is dry before applying makeup.

Don’t only line the bottom lashline. It will instantly make eyes appear tired. If you want to use liner, either only line the top all the way across, or both top and bottom.
Don’t wear bright blue eyeshadow. Although it can be done in a way that’s edgy (a deeper matte shade paired with winged black liner), it’s not easy to pull off without looking very 80s and dated.
Don’t put foundation on your neck. It’s not necessary. It shows, and will just get on your clothes. If you have the right foundation shade, you should just be able to blend it along your jawline. If your neck is lighter, a sweep of bronzer should even it all out.

Don’t imitate the beige, flat, monochrome makeup that you see on the runways. It will make you look washed out. If you want to try the nude makeup trend, remember that it involves gorgeous glowing skin and very soft hues.
Don’t wear red eyeshadow. It can be interesting on a runway model under certain lighting. But in natural light it can make you appear sick or hungover.
