No Makeup, No Problem: Swizz Beatz Defends Wife Alicia Keys’ Natural Look At VMAs

As most good husbands/boyfriends should do, Swizz Beatz stood by his wife Alicia Keys’ decision to go makeup-free to Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, because it’s really not a big deal.

He voiced his thoughts on critics and just overall bored people coming for his beautiful-either-way-she-chooses-to-leave-the-house wife via Instagram on Monday (Aug. 29).

“This is deep. Somebody sitting home mad because somebody didn’t wear makeup on their face,” he said in the video, with a comically puzzled look on his face.

“Not your face, but they didn’t put makeup on their face because they just didn’t feel like wearing makeup,” he continued. “But you mad because that person didn’t put on makeup to please you? Type of sh** is this? Cause you can do whatever you wanna do. She didn’t tell y’all don’t wear no makeup. She just said that she’s not vibin’ with the makeup all the way 100 percent like that. That’s kinda her thing that she wanna do.”

Keys also addressed those who are criticizing her natural look via Twitter, writing, “Y’all, me choosing to be makeup free doesn’t mean I’m anti-makeup. Do you!” followed by a stunning, makeup-free selfie.
