People Are ‘Plopping’ Their Hair With Defective LuLaRoe Leggings
After months of customers complaining that LuLaRoe leggings rip with barely any wear, the company is finally offering to refund defective pairs. But some clever customers have decided instead to find a whole new use for their paper-thin leggings: hair plopping.
For the uninitiated or anyone who was scared to search on that off-putting term, hair plopping is a process that lets curly-haired people dry their hair without it frizzing. The technique only requires a microfiber T-shirt, a cotton towel, or, in this case, an unwearable pair of leggings. Simply pile your hair atop your head and twist your towel (or, ahem, leggings) around wet hair. Air-drying and terrycloth towels tend to exacerbate frizz. Untextured fabrics like that used in LuLaRoe leggings will help hair to dry smoothly.
There are plenty of different techniques for hair plopping. Some people swear by applying hair products before the hair-wrap, others just let the fabric do its job, and still others say it’s all in the fold.

The good news for LuLaRoe customers is that the “buttery softness” of their leggings makes for a bad workout but a perfect… plopping mechanism.
Customers have until July 31 to decide if they want to return leggings purchased in the past year. “We developed the Happiness Policy, Make Good Program, and Limited Warranty to reinforce our commitment to providing value and enjoyment from our products,” LuLaRoe told Yahoo Style in a statement. “We take pride in our clothing and want everyone who wears LuLaRoe to be happy and satisfied with their purchase. These policies represent our wholehearted commitment to stand behind our brand.”
Whether that value comes from the world’s best hair plop or your money back is totally up to you.
