Solange Knowles Makes Sectioning Clips Chic

Solange Knowles is one of the few celebrities in Hollywood with the confidence and swag to make absolutely anything look cool. Whether it’s eccentric makeup choices or her daring sartorial proclivities, she’s not afraid to be herself, and her latest album cover art really drives this fact home.
The artist shared the photo on Instagram Tuesday night ahead of the release of her new music coming this Friday, Sept. 30. We see Solo rocking a fresh-faced makeup look with her hair down and styled in waves — and a ton of clips in it.
And no, these aren’t those stylish bobby pins or colorful barrettes most celebrities wear — these clips are the ones stylists use to hold your hair out of the way as they’re working on your coif.
Who thought some ol’ salon sectioning clips could look so … chic? Of course, Solange would be the one to pull this off. Even her fans loved her look, posting comments like “Frida Kahlo realness!” and “her hair is everything.”
This look might not exactly translate as a day-to-day style; however, you can still buy hair clips at any drugstore to make styling curly hair much easier. Our favorite? The DevaCurl DevaClips ($14), which you can use to give curls extra volume at the root while your hair dries after showering.
