Spring’s Best Lipstick Colors

Last month, I shot a feature on noted hairstylist John Ruggiero and his frequent client/friend, Sports Illustrated model Samantha Hoopes. After the hair images were complete, we thought it would be fun to test out some spring makeup colors. Hoopes rarely wears makeup (she always shows up at the studio with a bare face) but when she does, she generally goes for a smoky eye. So to mix it up, we selected five diverse lipstick shades ranging from a peachy nude to a deep brick.
After spending the rest of the afternoon testing numerous lipsticks (and cracking up at Hoopes’ jokes), the following products got our vote for best options in each of the color categories. What is your favorite lipstick color for spring?
Subtle Nude

This delicate nude works well on warm and cool skintones.

Pale Pink
