Tackling Undereye Circles
I often get asked what makeup I can’t live without and the answer is always corrector and concealer. The products work together to tackle darkness and discoloration leaving you looking radiant and rested. Dark circles happen for a variety of reasons—lack of sleep, aging, genetics, smoking, even stress. No matter what the cause, here’s how to hide dark circles in minutes:
? Always make sure you hydrate the skin around your eyes with a rich under eye cream at night. This will help plump up and moisturize the skin. During the day, apply a very light amount of under eye cream, letting the product absorb into skin before applying makeup.
? Corrector is pink or peach-based makeup that will neutralize, brighten, and counteract discoloration under your eyes.
? If you have light to medium skin go with pink or bisque-toned corrector. Try peach corrector for warmer skin tones. Darker skin tones should look for peach or dark bisque corrector.
? If your corrector looks too light or whitish go with a darker shade.
? If your corrector looks too yellow, choose a lighter tone.
? You can apply corrector with your fingers or a brush. Only place it where you see darkness.
? Look for a yellow-based concealer for the under eye area. It should be one shade lighter than your skin tone.
? To apply, use your fingers or a brush. If you use a brush, make sure it is clean and doesn’t have corrector on it. Corrector and concealer only work when layered, not blended.
? Finish with a light dusting of yellow-toned powder to set in place. If you are very pale, a translucent powder could work. If you have darker skin try a peach-based powder.
