At last night’s premiere of the fourth season of HBO hit, Girls, the dynamic quartet of stars—Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, and Zosia Mamet—dolled up and turned heads with their grown up beauty looks. Over the last four years, we’ve enjoyed watching their beauty evolution as individuals and as a group on the red carpet.

Looking back at the premiere of the first season, we were just getting to know Girls but we already were starting to see hints of their personalities shining through on the red carpet. Unlike the more unique styles their characters have on screen, the girls looked more polished at the public unveiling of their show. Kirke went for a bohemian beauty vibe, Mamet went for a natural, youthful look, Dunham opted for a slightly quirky braid crown, and Williams kept things simple and glam. Jessa, Shoshanna, Hannah, and Marnie were all in there, but the girls conformed a bit more to red carpet expectations.

By the time season two was upon us, we had followed the girls through new jobs, new boyfriends, and new apartments. Their beauty looks on the red carpet were fresh and reflective of where they were headed. A glamorous Williams went for a sleek pony tail and smoky eye, Kirke left her hair loose with a statement red lip, Dunham showed off a new choppy pixie cut, and Mamet opted for a girly top knot.

For the season three premiere, it was obvious the girls were growing up. Downtown cool waves on Mamet, a sleek bob and kohl-lined eyes on Dunham, bold lips for Kirke, and another classic beauty look on Williams.

Last night’s beauty looks are making us even more excited for the season premiere on Sunday night—it’s the best the girls have ever looked. Mamet chopped her long hair, Williams went for dark liner and nude lips, Dunham showed off another sleek bob, and Kirke rocked a berry lip and undone ‘do. Since the beginning, one of the tag lines of the show has been “Almost getting it kind of together,” and judging from their red carpet beauty we think the girls are getting it together just fine.
