How to Get Reese Witherspoon's Red Carpet Hair

Celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel is the man behind Reese Witherspoon’s cascading, Veronica Lake-style waves at Sunday’s Academy Awards. In this exclusive video for Yahoo Beauty, Abergel shows us how to get the super chic look at home.

1. Apply mousse at the roots of hair for texture.

2. Use a 1” curling iron to create a barrel curl. Roll it around your finger and pin it into place to set the curl.

3. Keep the top section of hair flat and only curl from mid-shaft to the end, using a 1” curling iron.

4. Wrap front curls around your finger and pin into place. Make sure they are fully cool before you take them down.

5. Follow the bridge of your nose straight up to create a perfect middle part.

6. Release all curls from pins.

7. Spray a paddle brush with hair spray to help take down frizz. Brush through the curls.

8. Brush hair back away from the face to create the sleek look.

9. Apply mousse to a clean sponge and brush hair with the sponge to create a smooth, shiny look.

10. Use a business card to hold hair in place in the front.

11. Back comb hair at the crown to add volume.

12. Use a paddle brush to brush out the waves.

13. Apply gel to a toothbrush or other small brush to tame any flyaways.

14. Apply hairspray and remove business cards.
