There are few things in this world as gorgeous as Bryce Dallas Howard’s red hair color. And although she is a natural redhead, she also gets a boost from superstar colorist Tracey Cunningham, who shared the formula for getting the lovely golden strawberry hue she had in Jurassic World.

Cunningham spilled the details on her Instagram feed, writing, “OK, when we started off her hair was a much darker red, so I did a full head of babylights [meaning ultra-fine highlights] all over with Redken Blonde Dimensions with 40 Volume and ¼ oz. of Olaplex.” The translation: She lightened her hair with highlights using Redken’s Blonde Dimensions formula with a bond multiplier (a professional-level colorist’s mix-in) added in. From there, she gets into very technical salon speak, but here are the basics: She added a yellow/orange demi-permanent gloss from the Redken Shades EQ collection to keep it golden. Then she used a red demi-permanent color to richen up the hue with another gloss on top. Finally, she added more highlights with Redken Flash Lift with a final hit of Olaplex No 2 Bond Perfector (another professional product that works like a toner) to fine-tune the color.
