The Surprising Trick to Curing Chapped Lips

Want to put an end to chapped lips? Reaching for lip balm isn’t the fix because most balms don’t really absorb and only coat the surface. Here are some better solutions.

  • Apply a few drops of any natural oil you have on hand like olive oil or jojoba oil to lips. Gently brush lips with a soft toothbrush (children’s toothbrushes are great for this) this will remove any chapped, flaky skin. Do this once a week and lips will stay smooth.

  • To moisturize apply a rich eye cream to your lips. While you can use any kind of moisturizer, I find that eye cream provides just the right amount of hydration without being too greasy. It’s also the perfect size to keep in your bag to use on the go.

  • Finish with a layer of lip balm or gloss on top to lock moisture in. Avoid products with menthol or camphor, which can be irritating.
