There are two things you can say about Ariana Grande with complete and utter certainty. First, the girl can sing—her voice is often favorably compared to that of her idol, Mariah Carey, and with good reason.

As for the other? Well, it’s pretty clear that Grande has a thing for a half-up, half-down ponytail. The 21-year-old is rarely seen without her signature ‘do, which has earned her a bit of teasing. She wears the style, she told fans earlier this year, because her hair is damaged after years of dyeing it. “As annoying as it is for y’all to have to look at the same hairstyle all the time, it’s all that works for now (AND I’m comfortable for the first time in years),” she wrote.
