This Is Why Katy Perry Now Looks Like Scarlett Johansson

Katy Perry went full Scarlett Johansson at Sunday’s iHeartRadio Music Awards.

The singer, in the midst of “taking respectful, loving space at this time” from her paramour Orlando Bloom, performed at the show. And she explained her new ‘do to host Ryan Seacrest.

“This is new. It’s so funny. I was so excited. I always wanted to do a pixie cut. I was literally at the Oscar party and I saw Scarlett Johansson. And I had been going, ‘Should I do it? Should I not? I like it. I’m not sure if it would look good with my face?’ And I saw Scarlett Johansson. She had the same cut. I was like, ‘Dang. That’s one of the most beautiful women in the world. I could do that too and look maybe half as good.’ So I went there,” says Perry.

In general, she seems happier. Perry totally agreed. She referred back to a time when she first became a major star with the hit “I Kissed a Girl” and on the personal front, dated Travie McCoy, the frontman of Gym Class Heroes. Two years later, she married comedian Russell Brand.

“In 2008, it was crazy. It was like I was holding on to this rocket for dear life, and now I am surfing this rocket. The rocket is not riding me. I’m 32 now. I feel great. I’m really accepting of myself and have done a little work in that area. And it’s really paying off because I’m having fun and feeling free.”
