This Really Works: A Super Hydrating Mask
A few weeks ago I had a small—fine, big—allergic reaction to an expensive new face cream. I even sent a selfie to my mother and she responded: “Who is that?” Yeah, it was that bad.

After some Benadryl, a cool washcloth, and a few episodes of “Friday Night Lights” on my Netflix I was starting to look normal again but fast forward two days later and my face was completely dry, rough, and flaky. That’s when I reached for this mask, the Aurealux from Dolce & Gabbana ($169 for 6). The sheet mask might make you look temporarily like Hannibal Lecter, but it packs some serious hydration.

The mask is comes completely saturated with a serum that includes gold silk sericin, Italian olive oil extract, and Vitamin B3—this combination makes up Dolce’s exclusive Gold Flavo-silk Tricomplex. It’s recommend to leave the mask on for 10 minutes, but I rebelled and went for longer. After about 20 minutes, I removed the mask and gently patted in any excess product but I found that most of the serum had soaked completely into my formerly parched skin. My face looked brighter, but most importantly those flaky, dry patches were gone—and have stayed away ever since. The price tag might be steep (save them for a special occasion or an allergic reaction), but the results are worth it.
