Watch Jim Gaffigan Blow Dry His Wife's Hair After Her Brain Surgery
With a husband/nurse/hairdresser like Jim Gaffigan, actress and writer Jeannie Gaffigan is recovering well from her emergency brain surgery over a week ago. In a new Instagram post by Jeannie, comedian Jim, who announced the news on Facebook last Tuesday, can be seen dotingly blow-drying his wife’s hair.
Jeannie is most likely still weak from the nine-hour surgery that removed a large tumor from her brain stem, which is why she is relying on Jim to blow dry her hair (unless he’s just unbelievably good with hair and he always does this for her).

Of course, Jim doesn’t just brush her hair, he performs. Never failing to amuse, the co-creator and star of The Jim Gaffigan Show commits to the act as a Southern stereotypically chatty hairstylist with a backstory and everything. “When I was growing up, my mammie had a lot of hair. That’s when I knew I wanted to open my own hair salon,” Jim says to the camera as Jeannie films him gently blow-drying her blonde locks. “I ran away to Nashville and I opened up my own shop,” Jim says in character, who goes on to divulge TMI about meeting Billy Ray who was a “good dancer” and took her to some “honky tonks.” “And before you know it, I was pregnant. Then I was pregnant again. Then I was pregnant again. Well, anyway, we had 16 children together.”
Through all of this, Jeannie barely keeps a straight face. “My post surgery hair stylist is amazing!” she captioned the video.
Jim has been taking care of his wife in other ways, as well, since the surgery. A week ago he posted a photo of his children in bed with his recovering wife and some doctor toys. “’Mom takes care of us. Now we take of her.’ The miracle of baby medicine. Thanks for the prayers everyone. @jeanniegaffigan,” the caption read.
I can't thank @JoshBedersonMD, @BrainyLeslie & all the incredible people at @MountSinaiNYC enough for literally saving my life.

Jeannie says the doctors at Mount Sinai “literally” saved her life. But pretty sure she wouldn’t be recovering as well without her Southern hairdresser of a husband.
