Yes, Melania Will Have a ‘Glam Room’ in the White House
Melania Trump is known for always looking polished and pretty in public. As the future first lady of the United States, she will reportedly split her time between Washington, D.C., and New York City — where her son Barron goes to school. However, this doesn’t mean that the future FLOTUS, wife of President-elect Donald Trump, won’t make a home for herself in the White House.
“There will absolutely be a room designated for hair, makeup, and wardrobe,” at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, according to Melania’s longtime makeup artist, Nicole Bryl, who holds an impressive client list, including Ivanka Trump, the Hilfiger family, and the Rockefeller family, among others.
“Melania wants a room with the most perfect lighting scenario, which will make our jobs as a creative team that much more efficient, since great lighting can make or break any look,” Bryl told Stylish. She also spoke at length on the beauty regime of the 46-year-old former model.
The two apparently spend a lot of time preparing Melania’s look for public appearances to ensure she is portrayed in the best light. Applying Melania’s makeup takes “about one hour and 15 minutes of uninterrupted focus,” Bryl said. “If you want the look to be flawless and have it last [throughout the day], you do have to take a little extra time to make that happen.”
Considering each makeup session takes that long, it’s unsurprising that Melania’s team will take time to discuss her looks in advance. “There will be a meeting with the entire creative team to discuss the look for each given event for that day, as there will be several,” Bryl said.
The future first lady and Bryl share a strong relationship, as the makeup artist appreciates Melania’s decisiveness. “Melania will absolutely let us know what she envisions for herself, since she always has such a strong and secure idea of how she likes things. It makes it that much easier for the rest of us to team together and execute her vision.”
Melania is known for keeping a relatively low profile and valuing her privacy — something that Bryl chooses to respect within their client relationship. “To be honest, we hardly ever talk about politics,” Bryl told Women’s Wear Daily earlier this week. “I respect her privacy when we are together and prefer to catch up on how her wonderful son is doing in school, philosophical thoughts on life in general, the progression of my skin-care line, which she is always so supportive of, and fashion trends we’re both inspired by.”
As for Melania’s inauguration look? The details are still top-secret.
“When Melania’s creative team meets next week before inauguration, we will then see what she will be wearing for all of the events and collaboratively decide how the look will transpire,” Bryl told WWD. “Until then, it’s all speculation. Sometimes things happen spontaneously in the moment, and this is usually when the magic occurs.”
