Your Eye Shadow Questions Answered
Dear Bobbi,
How do I make my eye shadow last all day?
Sincerely,
Keely G.
Dear Keely,
Some people are more prone to an oily eyelid, making it harder for makeup to stay on. The key is to keep your eyelid dry and stick to powder (not cream) shadows. Never put moisturizer or concealer on your eyelids. Before you apply your eye makeup, take a wide fluffy eye shadow brush and dust a touch of your face powder onto your lids. That will make sure your shadow and liner lock in place and last longer.

Dear Bobbi,
Can you do a great eye look with just one color? Every tutorial I see uses so many colors!
Thank you,
Katherine S.
Dear Katherine,
I actually prefer using just one shadow. I think it looks really modern. One of my favorite looks right now is bright lilac shadow applied from the lashline up to the crease, paired with crisp black liner and black mascara. While I personally am not a fan of blue, you can really use any color from shimmer to matte. Purple and green shadows are really current and pretty options.

Dear Bobbi,
Can eye shadow also be used as an eyebrow filler?
Thanks,
Meredith B.
Dear Meredith,
Absolutely. Eye shadow is a great dual product. Choose a shadow that matches the color of your brows. Start by dipping a slanted hard brow brush into the shadow and blowing off of the excess. Apply from the inner corner of your brows and brush straight up. For the rest of the brow, brush up and over with light strokes, filling in any gaps with powder.

Dear Bobbi,
Is it ever OK to use white eye shadow?
Best,
Katy S.
Dear Katy,
I really like to use white eye shadow to highlight just underneath the brow bone and in the inner corner of the eye on women with very pale skin. For women with medium to dark skin tones, I love to use white eyeshadow for evening.
