Zendaya Talks Going Veg and Her Favorite French Fries
Who isn’t obsessed with Zendaya right now? Her on-point beauty looks, impeccable style, and thoughtful support of other women make it easy to love her. Another thing she puts a lot of thought into is where her meals come from. Today, on her app, the actress and burgeoning fashion mogul shared that (surprise!) she is a vegetarian and explained why she stays away from meat.
Something a lot of people don’t know about me is that I’m a vegetarian. It legit shocks people. I don’t know, maybe I seem like somebody who loves bacon. My main reason for being a vegetarian is that I’m an animal lover. Definitely NOT because I love vegetables.
It all started after a road trip I went on with my dad when I was 11. We passed a slaughterhouse and my dad really broke it down for me. I thought it was awful, all those animals getting packed up in there waiting to be killed. I couldn’t believe that’s how I’d been getting my meat!
It wasn’t until I saw the documentary “Glass Walls” by PETA that I officially decided to become a vegetarian. It’s so terrible, and my conscience is just too heavy.
I don’t like the taste of meat. It actually makes me feel weird. The only thing I kind of miss are my mom’s famous turkey burgers, but that’s it.
After those first couple of days of being meat free, I had this crazy dream about raining hamburgers. You know that book “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”? It was like that, with giant food falling out of the sky. And I still remember the dream so clearly.
Don’t think that giving up meat means Zendaya isn’t hitting up her favorite eateries. The singer and actress mentioned some spots she loves to go to for a bite.
Now, to all you meat eaters who think veggie meals don’t actually taste good, here are some of my favorite vegetarian meals that might win you over:
The Veggie Grill
The quinoa burger is bomb by itself, but I always make sure to add buffalo sauce. Veggie Grill has a lot of vegan stuff, but not gross vegan. Like, good vegan. Get the crispy cauliflower too!
In-N-Out Burger
I do a grilled cheese with grilled onions and extra spread. It tastes just as good as the burger. And the animal style fries are unreal.
Looks like the veg life is treating Zendaya just fine!
