She may be a rock star (casual), a movie star (NBD), and the daughter of two people so beautiful and talented it’s almost unreal, but here’s why we really can’t get enough of Zoë Kravitz: when it comes to her look, she’s all about change. In fact, she wholly embraces her beauty whims—you won’t be surprised to find she’s swapped out a blunt, bleach-blonde bob for totally gorgeous, waist-grazing braids. Since stepping onto the Hollywood scene in ‘97, Zoë’s transformed from a sweet young thing to a badass triple threat, proving she’s the ultimate beauty chameleon, and we’re intent on following her every step of the way.

Stepping out for Fashion Week in late 2005, a young Zoë (above) appeared at Bryant Park in typical tween fashion—decked out in accessories, complemented by a radiant fresh face. #FBF, indeed!

Never one to wear a heavy face of makeup, Zoë arrived at DKNY’s Delicious launch party smirking, with subtle nude lips and long, chestnut strands.

Even before her Lolawolf-frontwoman days, Zoë emulated the saucy musician that she is now at the 2008 mtvU Woodie Awards. Pairing a bowler hat with bouncy waves and pretty peekaboo highlights, this style was Zoë’s way of announcing, “I’m all grown up.”

True to her easy breezy style, Zoë sat front row at Erin Fetherston’s Fall 2009 runway show in head-to-toe florals and loose waves. But what we really love about this look? Her edgy, effortlessly mussed-up bangs.

Zoë traded in her signature pale lip for a statement-making red pout, making her day (and ours!) a little brighter.

Hello, summer hair-spiration. A loose, tousled braid is all Zoë needed to have all eyes on her at the 2009 premiere of Year One.

The bangs are back—in a big way. Zoë made a case for the chop at the 2011 Belin Film Festival, and had us scrambling for an appointment at the hairdresser’s.

Lighten up, she did indeed! We almost didn’t recognize a fairer-haired Zoë at the 2011 Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Dinner (and couldn’t help but notice that she bears a striking resemblance to Ciara…).

There are very few people in the world who can actually pull off short blunt bangs—luckily (or should we say obviously?), Zoë is one of them.
