Butt Why?! Kim Kardashian Bares Oiled Up Booty on Racy Mag Cover
Kim Kardashian's rump has been a popular topic for years – and now it has thrust itself into this week's conversation.
The 34-year-old limelight lover posed for her raciest photo shoot yet, going nude — and exposing her entire backside — on the Winter 2014 edition of Paper magazine. As if that wasn't enough, North West's mommy was more oiled up than the BP spill for the risqué shoot, in which she's wearing black gloves, a pearl choker, and nothing else.
See the unedited version of Kim's cover masterpiece here… if you're up for it.

For you Kardashian aficionados out there – and we know you exist, which is why her mobile game has earned $43 million in three months — there is a second cover. And, yes, it is bootylicious as well, but actually safe for work. Kanye West's new bride is posing in an evening dress shooting champagne out of a bottle into a glass that's rested on... her backside. (French photog Jean-Paul Goude shot the pics and this one is a recreation of his famous "Champagne Incident" portrait.)
Kim was quite proud of her work, posting:
The #BreaktheInternet hashtag comes from the magazine, which said in a release, "For our winter issue, we gave ourselves one assignment: Break The Internet. There is no other person that we can think of who is up to the task than one Kim Kardashian West. A pop culture fascination able to generate headlines just by leaving her house, Kim is what makes the web tick."
Folks at the magazine went on to describe the inside photos of Kim as "holy f--king s--t," the first time we've seen that exact wording in a press release.
"Kim K" was trending on Twitter soon after the photos were released late Tuesday night. Of course, she received high praise from members of the Kardashian klan, including momager Kris Jenner, who knows that Kim and her lovely lady lumps are her meal ticket:
Kim's new hubby was a fan as well, reposting the cover with the hashtag "#AllDay."
Not everyone else was as into it. Glee's Naya Rivera commented on Kim's bare booty post on Instagram, writing, "I normally don't. But...you're someone's mother..." (An Us Weekly source said that Kim didn't care about Naya's opinion and called the actress a Kim "copycat.") Comedian Billy Eichner joked, "Oh God look at what Renee Zellwegger did now!" Piers Morgan spoke for many when he posted one word, "Crikey!"
And the spoofs are already coming, including this gem:
What we find interesting is that in recent years (basically since she hooked up with Kanye), Kim has been trying to become a more legitimate star and move away from the whole "a sextape made me famous thing." She steps out in only the top designers, had her dream fulfilled of appearing on the cover of Vogue, and had Kanye championing for her to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (an honor reserved for "legitimate actors or singers," a spokesperson for the Walk said). So this all seems a step backward.
But maybe she's less interested in being legitimate and more interested in just staying — gasp! — relevant.
