Busy Philipps Has Crab Cakes Dumped on Her at ‘Manchester’ Premiere Afterparty, BFF Michelle Williams’s Face Says It All
Busy Philipps will tell you that there are plusses and minuses to attending glamorous premiere afterparties. On one hand, you can meet Matt Damon. On the other, you can have an entire plate of mini crab cakes dumped all over you.
The Vice Principals actress, 37, supported her BFF and fellow Dawson’s Creek alum Michelle Williams, 36, at the Manchester by the Sea premiere Monday at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. The blondes were having a ball together (when don’t they?), and everything was great until … crab cake gate. A fellow partygoer accidentally dumped the pungent app on Philipps. On her top. In her hair. The works.
Watch the whole thing go down here. Note — she does use the f-bomb:
“Guys, this guy just spilled an entire plate of f***ing crab cakes on me — just so you know,” Philipps said on Instagram Story. “I’m not kidding you, it’s f***ing disgusting.”
While talking, she pointed to huge chunks of crab in her hair, which Williams — and a crew of other women — then swooped in with a napkin to wipe off. You could tell they would have been so much happier had it been mini cocktail wieners.
“Only me. Only f***ing me,” Philipps continued. “Welcome to my world.”
Later, on the car ride home, Philipps — who always keeps it real — apologized for cursing so much but spoke more about the trauma of getting creamed at the bash. And threw it to Williams for more commentary.
Williams, who is not on social media, started by sweetly asking, “Wait, can you curse on this?” Of course she didn’t though. She just told Philipps’s 337,000 followers, “She smells like tartar sauce.”
Williams then added that the mishap was also “a really good cue to leave” the party, which was a star-studded event. The My Week With Marilyn actress arrived holding hands with her newly single co-star Casey Affleck (though it seemed platonic?), who got his brother, Ben, and Beantown childhood friend Matt Damon to also attend the shindig. (Damon is also a producer.)
Speaking of Damon, Philipps said in her final video of the night that the silver lining was “I did get to meet Matt Damon at the very end.”
We hope he was holding his nose.
