Bittersweet! Five months after David Bowie’s death, Iman marked what would have been their 24th anniversary by sharing a throwback photo of them together taken two decades ago.
“June 6th…, 24th wedding anniversary,” the supermodel, 60, wrote with the hashtag “#foreverlove.”
In the photo — which was part of a photo shoot they did with Bruce Weber for Vogue in 1995, the first and only time they shot something together — the Somali beauty, whose full name is Iman Abdulmajid, and the rock star are intertwined as they pose on the beach. A graphic treatment appears on the photo and reads: “The best thing about me is you.”
Iman and Bowie, who succumbed to cancer on Jan. 10, first swapped vows during a civil ceremony held in Switzerland in April 1992. The splashier wedding came more than a month later when they tied the knot at the American Church of St. James in Florence, Italy, on June 6.
Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, was his best man, and among the 68 invited guests were a handful of celebrities including Yoko Ono and Bono. Here they are posing with her parents.

In a 2013 interview Iman did with Naomi Campbell for Interview magazine, she talked about their wedding day. “They said, ‘Oh you shouldn’t complain: You’re going to be married for 50 years; it’s going to be happy.’ And they were right.”
Iman and David went on to have one daughter together, Lexi, who is 15.
Since Bowie’s death, the NYC-based Iman — who also lost her mother this year — hasn’t yet appeared on any red carpets, but she’s very active on social media. Last week, she shared photos from the set of an unnamed project she has been working on — likely connected to her cosmetics empire. In the pics, she looks as stunning as ever.
On set today for a future project! Stay tuned #ProjectX
