James Packer’s Super Yacht Isn’t Good Enough for Mariah Carey, So She Chartered Her Own

Sounds like Mariah Carey’s fiancé is gonna need a bigger boat to keep her happy.

When she’s not doing her residency in Las Vegas or riding on the backs of shirtless men in Los Angeles, the supreme diva songstress has been spending her summer at sea, darling. Her billionaire fiancé, James Packer, owns the Arctic P, one of the most luxurious yachts in the world, but — in true Mariah fashion — that’s just not good enough. She has chartered her own luxury liner, which she keeps anchored with his. As of late, they’ve been bobbing around the coast of Italy.

“It is important to have his-and-hers everything,” Mimi told Entertainment Tonight while giving a tour of her vessel (in a bikini), which has a 16-person crew to take care of the “We Belong Together” singer and her 5-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.

We wonder if the couple also has his-and-hers 35-carat engagement rings, white fur coats, six-inch stilettos, bedazzled bikinis, and personal makeup artists. (Don’t rule out anything when it comes to Mariah.)

While the Australian businessman’s boat, which costs a reported $340,000 a week to operate (plus expenses), is clearly not good enough for Mariah, it is an incredible vessel. Originally an icebreaker known for going on serious expeditions (it had traveled the furthest south a private boat had ever gone), the 287-foot ride was given a makeover — a “refit” in boating terms — to turn it into the poshest of luxury liners. For example, it has a hidden swimming pool. In the entertainment hub of the boat, a button can be pushed and a glass-bottom pool and Jacuzzi lower to the deck and get filled with water.

But that is not good enough for Mariah. Her 192-foot, six-stateroom yacht, Capri, features two bars, a Jacuzzi, a gym, and a library. Take a look inside. If nothing else, watching her navigate the spiral stairs in high heels will be entertaining.

If Mariah does walk down the aisle with Packer — we’re not sure if separate boats bode well for the pair — it will be her third marriage. So far the wedding date is top secret, but in her upcoming reality show, Mariah’s World, viewers will get to see her in the throes of wedding planning. The eight-episode series debuts Dec. 4 at 9 p.m. on E!
