Scott Eastwood Says Hollywood Is Hard — Even for Him
Even if your dad is a living legend, Hollywood can be brutal — at least that’s what Scott Eastwood says. On Friday, the 30-year-old son of Clint Eastwood took to Instagram to share a message about his struggle to succeed in Tinseltown. “Working in between work. On set and still hustling. It never ends!!!!” he wrote beside a pic of himself lying on a couch in a trailer, reading what appears to be a script. (It’s probably worth mentioning, however, that it looks like a pretty nice trailer.)
The actor continued, “That is the mentality you have to have. There are people out there that want your job and the next one you get.” He then switched into Tony Robbins mode, sounding more like a motivational speaker than a star. “So go out there and be the best!!! Don’t take no for an answer. I don’t. I get rejected all the time in Hollywood. Directors and producers don’t want to even let me audition for certain films. My emails never get returned sometimes,” he confessed. “That’s ok. It just fuels my fire even more. Go knock down the door if it’s f***ing locked!!!!”
Eastwood’s career got started (unofficially) back in 2008 when he landed a role in his father’s hit film Gran Torino. And while it hasn’t all been smooth sailing since — at least according to him — his list of credits shows that his hustle has paid off with a steady roll of work. Eastwood has appeared in more than 15 films, including Trouble With the Curve, The Longest Ride, and Suicide Squad, and even nabbed a part in Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams video (and didn’t get caught one time in an “I heart T.S.” t-shirt). He has upcoming roles in testosterone-packed Fast & Furious 8 along with Pacific Rim: Uprising, which is filming now and is presumably the set that Eastwood’s trailer is currently on.

Besides managing to never be romantically linked with Taylor Swift, Eastwood has a relatively active dating life, which is hardly a surprise considering he looks like this:
He has been relatively open about his romantic history, revealing to Andy Cohen during a Watch What Happens Live taping that his girlfriend (well, his former girlfriend) had cheated on him with Ashton Kutcher (back when Ashton was married to Demi Moore). According to Eastwood, that encounter with his then-current girlfriend may have been the beginning of the end for Kutcher’s first marriage. He later said he regretted talking about that publicly.
Then last August, asked by GQ Australia to discuss the last time he cried, he confessed, “I dated a girl a couple of years ago who died in a car accident.” He went on to admit that he’d never told anyone that story. “I’ve lost friends before; I’ve lost some great friends. But, I never lost someone I had been really intimate with, you know, like in that way, in a relationship. I think that really affected me in a way that… I don’t know. Maybe it’s made it harder for me to date.”
That doesn’t mean he doesn’t date, though. The uber-fit star hasn’t been shy about being photographed with beautiful women and was recently caught splashing the bottom of an attractive gal pal while romping through the waves. Not surprisingly, he addressed the situation with his usual candor and a dash of humor, thanking the press for making him look like a “total creep.”
Eastwood may be a lot of things — Hollywood royalty, movie star, and surfer, to name a few — but creep doesn’t seem to fit the bill. For now, he’s just burning that ol’ midnight oil, same as you and me. (Right.)
