Ikea's New Items for 2015: Here Are the Best
When your mailbox is suddenly impossibly crowded, you know it’s that Ikea catalog time of year.
The furniture giant is showing off its new U.S. lineup, and there are some gems to mine. 2015 has Scandinavian mega-chain debuting two new distinctly different collections, SPRUTT and NORNÄS for bed, bath, and living rooms. We sorted through them all and here are the best new Ikea items from 2015!
A view of the warm and woodsy NORNÄS collection.
A snapshot of the bright, airy and sun-filled SPRUTT collection.
The SPRUTT collection is all light and air, meant to inspire productive mornings and levity. The chic, minimalist, mostly white theme, with neon-like bursts of lemon-lime yellow, is certain to bring bounce and cheer to the long, dark days of winter. No Nordic depression here!
Some of the best SPRUTT are for the bathroom or would simply look amazing there.
SPRUTT cabinet with drawers, $89.99
SPRUTT towel holder, $19.99; SPRUTT basket, $4.99
SPRUTT shower curtain, $7.99
SPRUTT cart, $39.99
SPRUTT knob rack, $24.99
The NORNÄS collection strives to “bring the Swedish forest into your home,” with a bunch of pieces aimed at highlighting the “beauty and versatility of natural pine for a new generation.”
NORNÄS Bookcase, $159
NORNÄS sideboard, $169
NORNÄS 4-drawer chest with two compartments, $249. (2x4 pile not included, of course.)
These modular-sized side ($50) and coffee tables ($60-$80) can be positioned together to form a variety of shapes.
You can still pick up some Ikea classics (looking at you, Ektorp), of course, but we’re happy to see some fresh, clean designs from our favorite Swedish superstore. Now if only they could something about the crowds of sad, overwhelmed shoppers.
