String Art Heart

We think saying I love you is so important and hearing it can really make your day.  Why not pull on someone’s heart strings in a fun and different way.

TOOLS:

  • Power drill

MATERIALS:

  • Clear Plexiglass sheet (We used 18” x 24”)

  • Screws #6 ½ screws

  • Roll of hot pink nylon twine

  • Tape

  • Large piece of paper

  • Pencil

HOW TO:

  1. Draw a large heart on your paper.  It doesn’t need to be perfect. A misshapen and abstract one is all good!

  2.  Tape paper to the “front” of the Plexiglass to use as your guide.

  3.  Drill holes along the circumference of the heart, around ½ inch from each other, and place screws in them.

  4.  Anchor the twine with a knot around one screw.

  5.  Holding the entire roll, create an overlapping, weaving pattern, wrapping the twine around the screws as you go.

  6.  When you’re unique design is done, secure it with a knot around a screw.
