After continuing to appear as in comedies such as “Father of the Bride” (1995), Culkin graduated to coming-of-age films, portraying conflicted youths in films like “The Cider House Rules” (1999), “The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys” (2002), and “Igby Goes Down” (2002), for which he was honored with his first Golden Globe nomination.

He has become known for making offbeat, snarky characters likable, often stealing scenes in films like the cult classic “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” (2010), and for two episodes in the second season of the acclaimed FX series “Fargo” (2015). However, it’s his portrayal of the complex Roman Roy in “Succession” that has made the industry take notice of his talent, and finally earned the actor well-deserved awards, including an Emmy.
Culkin might very well be adding even more statues to his collection over the next several months. He co-stars with writer/director Jesse Eisenberg in the comedy-drama “A Real Pain,” which has received accolades on the festival circuit, and is earning the actor awards recognition, as well as Oscar buzz.
In addition to his film and TV work, Culkin has performed on stage, and is set to appear in “Glengarry Glen Ross” in 2025. With his ability to play comedy and drama equally well, and his talent for making secondary characters some of the most memorable parts of a film, Culkin will hopefully continue to entertain us for years to come.
