10 Easygoing Blazers to Wear All Spring
Call It a Blazer, Sport Coat...Whatever. Just Make Sure You Have an Unstructured One for Spring.
Ah, the unstructured sport coat. A true throwback to a time when an extremely small group of guys used to geek out online over seemingly random tailoring details like the pick stitching on a peak lapel *sighs deeply*. How things have changed. Have they though? "The suit is back," they say. "Tailoring is in," I'm told. The difference between the tailoring of today and its stuffier counterparts is that the coolest way to wear it is completely casually. Sound familiar? Not to be that guy, but we've definitely been here before. Now, I'm not suggesting a return to the era of peak sprezzatura-induced peacocking is imminent, but it does seem like we've got a little bit of a situation on our hands. How to save face?
Hold on, I think I have something here. Why don't we swap out the slim trousers and sleek dress shoes for big pants and scuffed sneakers and call it a day? Holy shit, are we good? Crisis averted, captain! Thank me later. I feel like I'm Don Draper in that one scene when he shows up to Sterling Cooper completely smacked and basically starts pulling ideas out of his ass mid-meeting (if you haven't seen any of the show, that might be its best synopsis yet).
The unstructured sport coat is here to stay. And to literally no one's surprise, the Italians excel at it. Suck it up and give in—just don't call it a comeback.
Lightweight tailoring? For spring? Groundbreaking.
