The 12 best movies on Netflix in February
A new crop of movies is coming to Netflix in February.
Classics like "Moneyball" and "Crossroads" are hitting the streaming service.
So are must-sees like "Magic Mike's Last Dance" and "The Great Gatsby."
Here are a dozen titles worth your time on Netflix this month.
“Enough” (February 1)
In this 2002 thriller, Jennifer Lopez delivers an impressive performance as a woman who finally decides to fight back against an abusive husband.
“Fury” (February 1)
Before David Ayer took on the Suicide Squad and made Jason Statham into an ass-kicking beekeeper, he made this war movie starring Brad Pitt as the staff sergeant of a tough-as-nails tank crew taking on the Nazis in World War II.
Shia LaBeouf, Jon Bernthal, Michael Pe?a, and Logan Lerman also star.
“The Great Gatsby” (February 1)
Baz Luhrman takes on the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel the only way he can: with lush visuals and elaborate set pieces. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Gatsby opposite Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway and Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan.
“Magic Mike’s Last Dance” (February 1)
After sitting out on the second movie, director Steven Soderbergh reteamed with Channing Tatum to close out the stripper trilogy we never knew we needed.
Tatum returns as stripper Mike Lane, who escapes Florida thanks to his new sugar mama Maxandra (Salma Hayek) for London, where he embarks on his grandest idea yet.
“Moneyball” (February 1)
After you watch Brad Pitt play a tank commander, watch him play a very different role: the head of a struggling baseball team.
Playing real-life Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane, "Moneyball" chronicles how analytics infiltrated Major League Baseball in the early 2000s.
“Something’s Gotta Give” (February 1)
This Nancy Meyers rom-com stars Jack Nicholson as a successful older man who loves dating younger women. That is, until he comes across a woman (Diane Keaton) his actual age that he can't get out of his head.
“X” (February 1)
Ti West launched his graphic horror trilogy with "X," in which Mia Goth plays dual roles: a young woman working on a porn film named Maxine, and an elderly woman named Pearl. We follow Maxine as she films with a crew on a rural property in Texas in the late 1970s. What they don't know is Pearl and her husband are psychotic killers.
“Ready Player One” (February 3)
Based on the Ernest Cline book that uses gaming to pay homage to 1980s pop culture, Steven Spielberg's film is set in the distant future and follows a VR gamer (Tye Sheridan) who must figure out all the IP-fueled Easter Eggs to beat the game.
“Crossroads” (February 15)
This 2002 movie starring Britney Spears has built a cult following since its release. Spears, Zoe Saldana, and Taryn Manning play three childhood friends who set out on a life-changing cross-country road trip.
“Southpaw” (February 22)
Jake Gyllenhaal plays a boxer who spirals out of control after his wife (Rachel McAdams) dies following a fatal accident. Now he must get his life back on track not just to become a champion boxer again, but to gain custody of his daughter.
“Everything Everywhere All at Once” (February 23)
This multiverse-fueled look at family and identity won seven Oscars, including best picture, and features a career-best (and Oscar-winning) performance from Michelle Yeoh.
“Marcel the Shell with Shoes On” (February 24)
Based on Dean Fleischer-Camp and Jenny Slate's viral film shorts from 2010, the film follows the beloved tiny anthropomorphic seashell, who lives a unique life in the director's Airbnb.
